Sonics win in NBDL debut over Squires 100-90

James "Big Buddha" Edwards led the way for the Seattle Supersonics with a game high 20 points and 7 rebounds as they opened the NBDL season with a victory over the Virginia Squires 100-90.  Adrian Dantley had 17 for the Sonics but perhaps the most impressive was Hersey Hawkins who had 13 points, 8 rebounds, 7 assists and 3 steals. Hawkins played on and off the ball most of the game and was superb against Fat Lever who led the Squires with 24 points, 4 rebounds & 5 assists.
